Education Initiatives
Building Classrooms and Providing Desks & Benches: AJAX Charitable Trust embarked on its social mission in 2008, focusing on enhancing the infrastructure of local schools. Key highlights include the construction of classrooms at Govt. High School, Bashettihalli, and the provision of desks and benches to Navodaya School in 2015-16.
School Adoption Program: We adopted Vivekananda Kannada Medium School in Doddaballapura, introducing an Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Lab to promote computer awareness among students.
Strengthening Government Schools: In partnership with government schools like GHPS Ellupura and GHPS Bashettihalli, we've taken measures to enhance infrastructure, improve education quality, and foster overall development.
Environment Care Programs
Rejuvenating Nagara Lake: Water is a finite resource, and AJAX acknowledges the importance of water conservation. We allocated INR 35 Lakh for the rejuvenation of Lake Nagara in Doddaballapura, a source of water for numerous residents. The restoration efforts included silt removal, building protective structures, and constructing a bund to maintain safe water quality, thereby contributing to groundwater preservation in the area.
Tree Plantation: Trees are the Earth's unsung heroes, preserving the balance between exploitation and sustainability. AJAX has organized tree plantation events, the first phase involving planting 300 saplings in the catchment area of Arahalli Guddadahalli Village Lake. In the second phase of the Vanamahotsava, 250 saplings were planted by AJAX employees and local residents at the same location, in January 2020.
Disaster Response Initiatives
Flood Relief: Natural calamities are unpredictable and disruptive. In response to the 2019 floods that damaged a Government School in Headdaripura, Shimoga, AJAX employees generously contributed one day's salary. With the support of AJAX Charitable Trust, we reconstructed two classrooms, showcasing our commitment to the affected community.
Covid-19 Support: The COVID-19 pandemic affected millions, especially economically disadvantaged individuals. In Doddaballapur, approximately 25,000 people, primarily weavers and migrant workers, depend on weaving for their livelihood. AJAX collaborated with the Weaver's Organization in Doddaballapura to conduct a door-to-door survey and identified 500 individuals severely impacted by the pandemic. These individuals received ration coupons systematically. Food kits were distributed, adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. Furthermore, AJAX organized water tankers to provide drinking water in Gowribianur during the lockdown.
Vocational Skill Development
AJAX remains committed to empowering young individuals through skill development programs. Our vocational skill development training program comprises two modules: Operator Training and Service Technician Training, aiming to enhance the technical competency of rural, semi-urban, and urban youth for improved employment prospects. The program offers participants free food and accommodation during training, along with monthly stipends. It has benefited 142 operators and 83 service technicians from various states like Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and more. Training modules cover a wide range of skills, including DCV & Steering Selector Valve Dismantling & Reassembly, Assembly & Dismantling of Drum Motor, Hydraulic Cylinder Maintenance, and Electrical Components checking and testing.
CSR Activities
2021-2022
AJAX continues its journey of CSR in 2021-2022 with an array of activities aimed at making a difference. These activities include the donation of surgical masks to Sir C V Raman Hospital, free ambulance service for the COVID Care Centre at Doddaballapura, laptops and printers for the COVID Care Centre, procurement of oxygen concentrators for government hospitals, and contributions to improve local infrastructure. We also extended our support to the economically weaker sections affected by COVID-19. Notably, AJAX Charitable Trust constructed classrooms and kitchen facilities for several schools, including the Govt. Higher Primary School at Arudi, Doddaballapura, and the Govt. Higher Primary School, Kudumalakunte, Gowribidanuru.
